NES Health’s Emergency Department Medical Director, Jeffery Trager, D.O., was recently named Physician VIP for the month for exemplifying and upholding the ICARE values established at OhioHealth MedCentral Hospitals. Dr. Trager practices at MedCentral Shelby Hospital in Shelby, Ohio—a Critical Access Hospital with an annual ED patient census of about 14,000.
“Dr. Trager received the highest recognition award for a physician in the OhioHealth MedCentral Hospital System,” said Don Brock, D.O., FACOEP, FACEP, NES Health Regional Medical Director. “He was honored for his caring, compassionate attitude toward patients and staff, and for his community work and his dedication to the implementation of the hospital’s electronic health record system. There were over 30 administrators and staff present in the ED when he was surprised with the VIP award. I am so proud of him and am honored to have him as a colleague and such an important member of our team.”
“Thank you, Dr. Trager, for constantly going above and beyond your skills as an emergency physician,” said Thomas Zguris, M.D., MBA, FACEP, President and CEO of NES Health. “He is an exceptional physician who provides tremendous leadership, clinically and empathetically, within his ED to achieve ever higher levels of performance and care for the patients and families we serve.”
